Keep it cold when sleeping

One tip that I have for having more energy during the day is to get better quality sleep at night. The most significant way I have found for doing that is lowering the temperature in the bedroom to about 65 degrees or so. I always sleep so much better and wake up way less during the night when it’s cold!

I also like to keep the room cold at night. I’ve liked it that way since I was a little girl. It helps me fall asleep faster. I just can’t get a good night’s sleep if I feel hot.

I agree. Most people tend to sleep better if the room is cool or even a little cold. What temperature that is will vary by person of course. I’d be absolutely freezing at 65 degrees!

I love sleeping when the bedroom is chilly. I’m looking forward to another month from now when I’ll have the windows open and be sleeping like a baby.

I agree with LionHeart — one of my favorite things about fall, winter, and early spring is how cool it is at night. I always sleep with the windows cracked open whenever it’s in the 60’s or cooler.

My mother told me this years ago and I never believed her. Now I am an adult and while I still sleep with a blanket (no matter what season) I always keep the room cooler and have a leg hanging out of the blanket too.

Lorunda — I know what you mean about sleeping with one leg hanging out from up under the blanket; I do that, too! I learned it from my grandmother when I was a little girl.

I love to sleep in a cold room! In the fall and winter I normally sleep with the windows open. The rest of the time, we have to run the air at night, so I have the a/c set on max cool. We also shut off the other vents in the house so that all the airflow goes straight into the bedroom. It really makes a difference!
